Today is Thanksgiving. Of course, be grateful, right? How fantastic is it to set a whole day aside to remind us of all the things for which we are thankful?
Maybe you’re reading this on a different day. It’s wonderful to be grateful any day, every day.
I’m not naïve. I know that holidays can bring their own special blend of stress and tension and melancholy and _you fill in the blank_. If that’s the case for you this day, please just take this time, while you are reading this, to make space for the stress to fade into the background.
Think about all the things that that you love and are grateful for…what do you have now that you would you like more of? I’ve mentioned this before -wanting more of what you already have is abundant thinking, not scarcity thinking.
And it’s okay to want something that you might not have yet! Don’t stress. Let’s just make a turkey abundance sandwich… put that desire between two pieces of abundance and gratitude bread!
With Thanksgiving, it becomes obvious that we’re getting closer to the New Year. I would like to take you through a new kind of process for kicking off this new year. I hope you want to play along. Here’s a hint – it’s not going to be about resolutions. It’s not going to be about finding something wrong with you that you need to fix.
It IS going to be about finding something you really, really love and dreaming about how to get more of it into your life.
So as you go though this week of Thanksgiving, practice and pay attention to what you are most grateful for and what you really would love to have more of in your life. Find the thing or things you’d like to focus on to start. We’ll focus on one, but of course, you can add more to the list at any time.
We are going to spend December dreaming. You’ll take daydream breaks in the middle of what some people think of as a very stressful time of year. Not for you this year, my pretty!
So start making your list….of things that you love! Then go be with the people that you love!
And remember: in all things – progress, not perfection!
