If you read the blog last week, you’ll remember that we are going to spend Dreaming December together, preparing for the new year in a new way. It’s all about bringing more things that you love into your life.
There was a little bit of prep work. Did you spend time last week doing what you love? If not, it’s never too late; you can catch up! Did you pick something that you would like to have more of in your life? We’re going to use one thing as a focus, but of course it will be a reusable skill.
Here’s how to pick your December thing. It’s something that brings you a feeling that you love to feel. You already have some in your life and you want more. You totally believe that more is possible (even if you don’t know how right now).
The thing that you pick is your December talisman. It has a particular power and energy for the possessor (that’s you!). It is magically charged with the force it’s intended to represent.
Find some time today to take out your talisman and charge it up by daydreaming. Translated, that means set aside some time (5-10 minutes is plenty) and think of your talisman. Remember, imagine, luxuriate and linger in the idea of the experience (the emotions, the sensations, the smells, etc.) that you’ve chosen.
Every day, spend 5-10 minutes daydreaming.
Set a reminder in your phone or in your calendar.
Don’t let it go – don’t ignore it. It’s just a few minutes, and yes, you can spare it. Do it every day this week. The more you do it, the easier it will be. You’ll get to the feeling more quickly each time you do it.
What is amazing is that the more you practice this, the more real the experience will feel. Here’s why: your brain hardly knows the difference between real and imaginary. It reacts the same. You know that it’s true for fear, but it is also true for all the positive stuff, too!
So pull out your talisman everyday and charge it up!
Next week, we will layer on even more power.
And remember: in all things – progress, not perfection! Dream on.
Love and light, Maggie

p.s.1 Think of it as if you are writing your own December blockbuster movie. You are leveraging your capacity for suspended disbelief, so that you can be fully immersed in the experience and truly believe in the happy ending!
