Let’s sit with it a while…
In the middle of winter, I like to sit in my favorite chair with a cup of tea, reading on my ipad (because I can choose the font, the lighting and the text size).
Sometimes I notice I’ve stopped reading some time ago, and have just been sitting there, thinking about something. Maybe it’s from what I’m reading, maybe it’s something that happened in my life – earlier today or long ago. Maybe it’s just an atmosphere from another story.
It’s almost always an idea that needs to steep a bit, like my tea.
It needs to settle in and find it’s place among the other ideas. It might need to nestle in, or maybe it needs to elbow around and make room.
There are some things, some ideas that are just like that. They need time to figure out their place, and to settle in and become comfortable. I need to give them that space. I don’t need to rush to decide anything, to judge, or evaluate or plan.
I just need to sit with them for a while. I can be gently curious. Patient, while the thoughts in my brain work it all out for themselves. (Like puppies at the dog park!)
I have had several new ideas hit me recently, and I’ve also been asking for new inspiration to shake things up a bit. I’ve noticed that if I remember that I don’t have to react, if I give myself time to sit with the new stuff, then I give myself space to work it out.
I like that approach a lot. It feels luxurious. I also like who I am when I sit with things. I love how I can savor the synchronicity that always presents.
So maybe you wanna just sit with this, hmmm?
In the meantime, remember these things: You are loved. We are all loved. Let’s all be kind. And in all things – progress, not perfection!
Love and light,
I have created a short online course How to Choose a Color to Work With Right Now (yep, that’s the link) that explains the messages of 16 important colors. It pairs quite nicely with the book, The Rainbow Onion, if I do say so myself….mostly because it’s got visuals and audio.
