is this like time travel?

I love reading stories about time travel – backwards and forwards in time.

I wondered what it would be like going back in time, when the pleasures were simpler, the days were less harried and hurried, when people made most of their own food, had to wait longer than overnight shipping for things that they ordered to arrive, and they spent more time at home taking care of domestic stuff.

I wondered what it would be like going forward in time, when people would be more reliant on technology, when jobs and careers would involve collaborating with anyone anywhere and pretty much anytime.

It feels like we are time traveling now, and in both directions at the same time.

Of course, my imaginings and expectations for a future world had a human race that’s a bit more evolved than we’ve been – more Star Trek (Next Generation) than Star Wars. I imagined we’d see all people as one human race, appreciate the value of the individual, and there’d be a heightened awareness of justice and equality.

It feels like we are time travelling now between the old west with its sense of frontier justice, the sixties and the future.

I’m not stressed or depressed or unhappy right now. I am just curious. I have some space this morning. I went to a small store and picked up some handmade tortillas. Then I went to the library and picked up a book (following the whole complicated protocol.)  I noticed that the usual Saturday traffic was very light. It’s an eerie kind of quiet. It made me curious, and I realized that I felt like I’m traveling backwards and forwards in time at the same time.

Very, very Steampunk – one of my favorite genres.

Time really isn’t feeling linear today at all. To tie in color thinking, orange is pretty much the color of the timeline. So I’m going to send love forward and backward in time…just to cover all the bases!

In the meantime, remember these things: You are loved. We are all loved. Let’s all be kind. And in all things – progress, not perfection!

Love and light,

The book (The Rainbow Onion) has been launched. People are telling me that they love it, and it’s perfect for right now. That makes me really happy. You can get a copy here:  If you do get it, please leave a review. My goal is to get at least 50 reviews by September 25 (totally random date). If you leave a review, send me a screenshot and I’ll send you a present…a mini-course on the color yellow – perfect for these times.

Really insightful and useful analogy here, Maggie! Well done. Your usual brand of brilliance just makes so much sense. Thank you!
